About the Film

"Every Day After" is a 35-minute, award-winning documentary about Jary, a 13-year-old boy from Masbate Province, Philippines, who faces neglect and rejection due to his appearance. Raised by his protective older sister Jessa, who takes him in as a teen, the film explores her efforts to provide Jary with the medical care and emotional support he was long denied. It offers a deep, nuanced look at the healing process, highlighting Jessa's invisible labor to make it possible for Jary to experience the everyday joys and struggles of growing up.
