Meet Vicente.
When Vicente was born, his cleft made nursing impossible. He screamed with hunger night and day and was at risk of malnutrition or worse, when his mother discovered Smile Train partner Fundación Gantz. Sixteen years of complete, comprehensive, local care later, Vicente looks to the future with health, confidence, hope, and a brilliant smile.
Whatever the need, Smile Train is there to meet it with the safest, highest-quality care possible because children with clefts deserve no less.
Setting the Global Standard for Cleft Care.
Thanks to you, our Global Medical Advisory Board can establish the high standards all our programs must meet, and our six regional Medical Advisory Councils can ensure local compliance. Thanks to you, cleft care technology has been revolutionized through innovations like our Virtual Surgery Simulator, cleft speech therapy apps, VR patient journey experience, and digital database of patient records.
The change people with clefts need won’t happen on its own. That’s why we established Smile Train’s Research and Innovation Advisory Council (STRIAC), a global “Cleft Think Tank” whose ultimate goal is nothing less than putting the tools for change where they belong — in the hands of local experts.
